What the advance actually pays for
- Your rooms. We name the hotel or houseboat before you pay, and the property holds those rooms for your dates.
- Your car and driver. A private car is blocked for your whole trip, so it is not sold to anyone else.
- Peak dates. In busy weeks good rooms go early. Our winter booking post explains why we ask guests to book ahead.
How much advance do we take?
We take a 20% advance to confirm your trip. You pay the balance after you arrive in Kashmir.
How to pay an advance safely, with any agency
- Check registration. Ask for the J&K Tourism registration number. Ours is JKEA00005366.
- Get it in writing first. Hotel names, room split and inclusions should be on the quote before you pay. We name the hotel before you pay and do not swap it after you have agreed (our booking FAQ).
- Know what is not included. Gondola tickets, ponies, union taxis and flights are extra unless a line says they are.
- Keep the receipt and the WhatsApp chat with the quote.
