Mangalore (IXE) has no regular nonstop to Srinagar. We time the SXR pickup to the last leg you actually booked. The valley menu is on Kashmir tour packages.
The tickets that work are Mangalore to Bengaluru or Mumbai, then on to Srinagar, often with Delhi in the middle. A two-stop day is normal. Leaving IXE on the first morning flight matters more here than it does from Delhi, because each connection can slip. There is no sensible train from the coast to Jammu for a one-week holiday.
Door to houseboat is a full day, sometimes with a night in Mumbai or Delhi if the banks of flights do not join. Do not buy a ticket that lands in Srinagar after dark and still expects Gulmarg. Build six days in the valley after you have landed, not six days including the coast.
A Mangalore group is usually a family that wants the cool week, not a ski lesson. We keep Srinagar for the late landing, Gulmarg as its own day, and Pahalgam as an overnight. If the return also needs two stops, the last Srinagar day is a buffer, not Sonmarg.
