  • The driver's night halt if you stay over in Pahalgam, and the car's second day. The quote spells these out.
  • Tolls, parking, driver allowance and waiting time: the listing does not state them, so the WhatsApp quote says whether they are inside the figure.
  • Pahalgam hotel nights. Ask for them separately.

Pickup points

  • Any Srinagar hotel: we come to the door.

Stops worth making on the way

Each stop costs time on a road that is already long. For a day trip, pick one on the way down and none on the way back.

The union rule inside Pahalgam

Your Srinagar cab takes you to Pahalgam. From there, Aru, Betaab and Chandanwari are covered by the Pahalgam taxi union, and outside cars do not do that circuit. Budget for the union vehicle on top of the cab: our taxi rates guide lists the ABC circuit at ₹2,200–2,800 per vehicle. Baisaran is closed, and we do not plan it.

Best time, and what each season does to this drive

  • Spring to autumn: the usual Pahalgam season. The kashmirtourismofficial.com Pahalgam page names April to October as the best time to visit.
  • Amarnath Yatra weeks: Pahalgam and the Chandanwari side get busy with yatra traffic. If you want a quiet stay, avoid those weeks. See the yatra guide.
  • Winter: we plan Pahalgam only when the road is clear, and we check the J&K traffic advisory the day before.

Day trip or overnight?

A same-day return is possible, but you will spend more time in the car than in the valley. That is why our longer itineraries sleep in Pahalgam, so Aru or Betaab is a morning and not a rush.
