The old city, a houseboat only if it is heated, and short drives. The Mughal gardens are a poor use of a January day. Put the energy into Gulmarg, then read the winter tour for the nights.
A Pahalgam overnight plus Sonmarg plus a garden morning will not fit, and some of those roads will be shut. Build one Gulmarg day with a spare Srinagar day for weather. If the point is the slope, use the ski page, not this one.
The busy snow weeks are January and early February. December can be thin snow. March is melting.
