Trivandrum (TRV) to Srinagar goes through Bengaluru, Mumbai, or Delhi, and sometimes two of those. A nonstop does not exist in any useful sense. The least bad ticket is an early TRV departure and a daylight SXR landing. If that pairing is not on sale, sleep at the connection city and fly to Srinagar the next morning.
Same-day TRV to SXR is a dawn-to-night effort when it works. When it does not, you have spent a day and you are still not in the valley. Gulmarg on arrival is the mistake. Six clear days after landing is the trip.
Houseboat on the landing night, a full Gulmarg day, two Pahalgam nights, a Srinagar day, then a morning flight toward the south. Seven days if the return also needs two stops and you want a calm last evening.
Out early. SXR if daylight remains. Otherwise a planned night in Bengaluru, Mumbai, or Delhi.
