Day 1: Srinagar after the flight. Day 2: Gulmarg and back to Srinagar. Day 3: drive to Pahalgam and stay. Day 4: Betaab or Aru, second night in Pahalgam. Day 5: Sonmarg if the road is open, otherwise a Srinagar day, and sleep in Srinagar. Day 6: old city, and a shikara only if you want one. Day 7: airport.
The 5-day plan has none of the Pahalgam hotel and none of the Sonmarg day.
A Srinagar hotel or houseboat for nights 1, 2, 5, and 6, and a Pahalgam hotel for nights 3 and 4. Gulmarg is still a day trip unless you ask to swap one Srinagar night for the meadow. Sonmarg is not an overnight on this route.
Day 5 becomes Srinagar. We do not invent a replacement valley.
In June to early September, yes, the shape matches. Winter usually drops Sonmarg and the garden morning.
