Direct answer: Sinthan Top (also written Synthen Top) is a high mountain pass toward Kishtwar, reached from the Kashmir valley side through Kokernag and Daksum. Per the District Kishtwar Sinthan Top page, the top sits at 3,784 metres; Synthen Maidan is about 60 km from Kishtwar, and the top is about 24 km ahead of the Maidan. From the top, the descending road leads to Daksum in Anantnag district. It is a long private-car day from Srinagar. We do not claim the pass is open today — snow and weather close or slow the road; WhatsApp us before you travel.
From Srinagar you drive south through Anantnag toward Kokernag, then the Daksum road, then the climb toward the pass and Kishtwar side. That is the same south Kashmir corridor we use for the Kokernag, Verinag and Achabal day trip. The Kishtwar district page lists the nearest airport as Srinagar at about 135.5 km (and a much longer Jammu-via-Kishtwar figure). Buses between Kishtwar and Anantnag via Sinthan run only in summers, per that page. Private taxi or Sumo-style services are the usual tourist option.
The district page describes alpine pastures at Synthen Maidan, unending slopes and meadows at the foot of the top, and a wide view from 3,784 m. It also mentions adventure uses (paragliding, horse riding, rock climbing) and winter sports in season — those are activity ideas on the government page, not services we sell from this guide. Summer is the realistic window for a Srinagar day toward Sinthan. The district page is explicit that buses via the pass run only in summers. Outside that window, snow and ice can shut or delay the climb with little notice. We check the road the week you want to go and again the morning of travel.
