June, July, August, and early September. Days are long. Gulmarg is green. Pahalgam streams are full. Srinagar evenings are mild enough for a shikara after dinner.
Late March and April are tulips, not this season. December to February are the winter notes.
One Srinagar garden day, one Gulmarg day, and a night in Pahalgam. Add Sonmarg only if the road is open and you are not flying the next morning. The booked version, with the houseboat and the Pahalgam hotel named, is the summer tour package.
You will pack boots you do not need, and you will skip the gardens that are the point of June. Gulmarg in August is a meadow. It is not a ski week.
Showers, not a shutdown. Mornings are still usable.
The main Mughal gardens are an ordinary summer day. Ask us if one of them is closed on the date you care about.
Weekends and June holiday weeks, yes. A weekday morning is the calmer gondola.
